Good - Doer - Michael Curling

GEORGIA-BASED AMIGOS FOR CHRIST WORKS shoulder-to-shoulder with Nicaraguan neighbors to bring clean water, healthcare, education, and economic opportunity to some of the most rural communities in that underprivileged population. Roswell’s Michael Curling is board chairman of this nonprofit which proclaims on its website that faith compels its volunteers to take action and make Christ visible to each person with whom it comes in contact.

Michael holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Virginia Tech. He is now Director of Investments for the Roswell investment firm New Kent Capital, where he develops and implements portfolio investment strategies and manages external banking relationships. He oversees a portfolio that includes five commercial redevelopment projects, one of which is the award-winning 1028 Canton Street, which is probably better recognized by the tenant’s name, local favorite Table & Main Restaurant and Bar. Michael also serves on the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.

The need in Nicaragua is great; it’s the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Kidney disease kills more people each year than in any other nation. Most children don’t finish the sixth grade. Skin disease, parasites, and respiratory disease run rampant. Improved health and family life is impossible to achieve alone, yet hope remains. Michael Curling is very active in the Roswell community, has a young family and still finds the time to be meaningfully involved in causes important to him.  We at RM think that’s just awesome.
